Benefits of Hydration

The human body is composed of 70% water. No cell in the body could exist without water. No function of the human organism is carried out without water.

The blood circulates through a complex network of channels and is primarily made up of water, allowing it to transport nutrients throughout the body.

Eyes are moistened by water, and skin, which is normally soft and flexible, becomes dry without water.

The body uses enormous amounts of water, but it is designed to conserve water. It uses the same water again and again.

It is advisable to drink plenty of water throughout the day, 6-8 glasses, and not just when we are thirsty.

The water we drink is like an internal shower that cleanses waste and toxins from the body.

Simple tips to stay hydrated throughout the day:

– Always have a large bottle of water with you, which you consume and refill throughout the day.

– Drink a glass of water first thing in the morning.

– Start meals with a glass of water and also drink after meals. Without water, the body cannot digest food.

– Flavour your water. Add a taste of flavour, a slice of lemon, cucumber, mint, aloe, fresh ginger.

– Consume tea throughout the day, as it is part of the daily fluid requirement.

People who exercise frequently should be aware that as the intensity of the exercise increases, the body temperature rises.

Sweating is one of the ways the body controls its temperature. Therefore, proper hydration throughout the day is important.

After an hour and a half of intense exercise, the body loses a significant amount of electrolytes. If hydration is done only with plain water, then the remaining sodium in the blood will be diluted, which will deplete the electrolyte level even faster.

Sodium reserves are necessary for muscle contractions, so they need to be replenished after being lost through sweating.

Dehydration can affect performance and lead to very slow recovery.

An indicator is the color of the urine, which is clear when the body is sufficiently hydrated, and dark in color when you are dehydrated.

It is suggested to consume 1 litre of water 2 hours before starting exercise.

During exercise, it is recommended to drink at least 250 ml of water per hour.
